Darren Meeds

April 13, 1978 - March 25, 2024

In Loving Memory ~

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing after a short, hard battle with cancer our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Darren was born on April 13, 1978, in Kitimat, BC. to Lynne and the late Roger Meeds.

After high school graduation, Darren attended College in Terrace, BC and then went on to University in Prince George, BC where he received his Bachelor of Commerce.

Darren had worked at the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club for many years, reffed a lot of hockey and was a summer student at Eurocan before becoming a full time employee with West Fraser. When Eurocan shut down in 2010, Darren was fortunate enough to quickly find a job at Rio Tinto in Kitimat, BC.

Darren had a love for golf for many years and went on a lot of golf trips with friends.

In 2008, he met the love of his life Nichole. In 2011 they added their beautiful daughter Lauryn, got married in 2012 and in 2013 added another beautiful daughter Raegan to complete their family.

Family and friends were everything to Darren. He would do anything to help you out and expect nothing in return. He was an amazing man.

Darren was predeceased by his father Roger Meeds and is survived by his mother Lynne Meeds, sisters Jackie Meeds (Stewart Bors), and Andrea Pankhurst (Stacey), Emily, Camryn, Logan, Jaxon and Callie. Brother in law Michael Tormene (Laurel), Benjamin and Hudson. Sister in law Theresa Greenshields (Hayden), Milania and Sophia. In laws, Ferruccio and Carol Tormene.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 1pm in the basement of the Christ the King Catholic Church. Light snacks and refreshments to follow. There will be an open mic to share any stories or memories you have of Darren.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kay, Dr. Van Schalkwyk and their office staff, Oncology departments at Mills Memorial Hospital and Kitimat General Hospital, radiation department at UHNBC, ER staff and Acute care staff at Kitimat General Hospital.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your care and compassion towards Darren these last 4 months.
